Company Profile

My photography career began in 1962 with U.S. Navy Photography School. Aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway during the Vietnam conflict, my experience included photography of flight deck operations and photojournalism, with many photographs printed in U.S. newspapers.

Aerial mapping was my main occupation from 1965-1979 while employed with R.M. Towill Corporation, a Honolulu based civil engineering, survey and photogrammetric firm. My company positions ranged from Aerial Mapping Photographer, Photo Lab Manager, Director of the Photo Contour Division, Mapping Compiler, and Project Estimator.

1980 — 2000 I licensed as a General Building Contractor and Home Remodeling Contractor, giving me experience and understanding of photography in the industrial environment.

In 2000 aerial and industrial photography became my full time profession.

In 2003 I expanded my career into crime scene photography through photographic work at The Institute For Forensic Imaging, Purdue School of Engineering & Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

With my associate partner, Genesis Aviation we offer over 100 years of combined experience in aerial photography, aerial videography and expertise in a wide variety of helicopters. Kauai’s Ka Loko Reservoir Breach which caused the loss of seven lives — An independent study by Hawaii State Special Deputy Attorney General Robert Godbey...

"Karl recently helped us in an interesting project by finding historical aerial photographs going back some 50 years, many of which other researchers had simply not been able to locate. They proved to be quite helpful to us. In addition, he was able to make excellent quality reproductions of certain delicate historical photographs that could not be released by the foundation in possession of them; the quality of those reproductions was excellent. It was a pleasure to work with him on this project."
